back-to-back-to-back Class 1A State Championships (2010, '11, '12), winners of 88 straight games - second longest streak in high school baseball history

Justin Dehmer has built a high school baseball dynasty at Martensdale-St. Marys. Now Coach Dehmer takes you on a three day, all access look inside his baseball practices, while riding an 88-game winning streak. He'll show you how to run an efficient and highly competitive practice that will create game-like pressure for your players and allows them to work on the mental side of the game.

Dehmer divides his team into small groups that compete daily to accomplish different goals. The players, as well as the team as a whole, are measured against a standard and evaluated and given timely feedback to hold players accountable and to provide motivation.

Dehmer's practice philosophy is simple: "Measurement=Motivation."

Practice 1
Starting with the National Anthem, moving into a dynamic warm-up and then to base-running drills, Coach Dehmer concentrates on making every aspect of practice game-like and competitive. In this practice, players are divided into three teams and compete for points in various competitions.

Coach Dehmer incorporate a unique throwing program, that encompasses the correct throwing motion and body alignment along with various footwork and glove placement with the different positions. The practice includes cuts/relays and bunt coverage's at a very high pace and in a competitive environment.

The practice ends with a unique way of incorporating live bunting and quality at-bats hitting sessions. The drills and game situations are a must watch for any coach looking to make his or practices more game-like.

Practice 2
Coach Dehmer challenges his team with his unique idea of grading players through a point system based on the number of times a skill or situation is done correctly.

Coach Dehmer puts the team through a "21" drill in which they must get 21 outs in a row. He also takes them inside for indoor hitting session that utilizes multiple stations, each one designed to focus on a specific hitting skill.

Coaches at all levels struggle with the idea of how to run an effective batting practice session that incorporates every player. Coach Dehmer does an outstanding job showing you how to efficiently put together a hitting practice that incorporates hitting, defense, and base running. The "Quality at Bat" session is run like a game situation with each player receiving points based on how well they accomplish a specific task.

Practice 3
In this practice, the team runs through its dynamic warm-up, moves into base-running drills, then engages in a progressive throwing/catching session that incorporates game-like movements. From there, Coach Dehmer takes the team back on the base path to measure and record their times from first to second. This enables him to compare his runners' speeds with the opposing catchers' "pop time," reducing the guesswork involved in sending runners.

The practice then moves on to bunt work, quality at bats and ends with a round of "smash and dash" that emphasizes line drives, base running and fielding hustle. All the drills incorporate measurement and competition, which your team stays motivated and you know exactly how they're performing
